Cardio: The Key To Losing Weight
If you want to trim down the best and most hated thing to do is cardio. Cardio is vital in order to have a healthy heart and circulatory system. The more you exercise the leaner and stronger you and your heart will be. Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in America. Save yourself from being a statistic. Join a cycling class, go on walks, jog for 15 min. a day, or dance. They’re all great ways of getting and staying fit.
Dancing is one of the easiest cardio exercises to do. Why? Because you don’t feel like you’re exercising. Time flies when you’re having fun. If you’re dancing to your favorite tunes you lose track of time and before you know it you’ve been dancing for an hour. It’s good for your heart and your soul. If you really want to turn it up a notch do dance moves that require getting down on the ground and standing straight up again. In one way or another you end up doing movements that are similar to squat or lunges but in a cardiovascular version. These exercises are also known as ply metrics. They consist of movements like squatting and jumping up as high as you can. They get your heart pumping and build strength.
Cycling is another great form of cardio. It burns up to 700 calories in one hour! It is hard but once you get the hang of it you’ll be addicted. Places like LA Fitness offers cycling classes. Some even have cool projectors showing landscapes and scenery while you’re cycling. The instructor keeps you motivated while everyone in the room is in the same rhythmic pattern. Once you get in the groove you will enjoy it and not even notice the fat shredding off your waist line. Aerobic exercise is anything that makes your heart rate go up and stay up for at least 15 min consecutively. If you’re not breaking a sweat then you’re not working hard enough. If you’re on a treadmill try running intervals. It will be the hardest workout in the least amount of time. Try speeds of 3.0, 5.0, and 7.0 rotating them every minute for 15 minutes. By the end of the 15 minutes you will fell like you ran a marathon for 2 hours. Running in intervals sheds pounds in little time and builds your endurance. As long as you break a sweat for 15 minutes a day, you’re getting the minimum cardio exercise for your heart and body.
